super puppet update
damon and i started building the skeleton for the booth today.
nothing is set in stone right now so if we need to make changes to the theme or the dimensions of the booth, we have until April 16th before things start getting permanent.
the skeleton of the booth is primarily being built with hinged 2X4's and is collapsable. the booth itself will be roughly 7' X 7' with a long rear ramp providing ground access and a pitched roof for rain protection. our current dimensions leave no room for a walkway to the bar itself but in trade the booth will be large enough for big epic shows, secret trap doors, mic stands, windows, bird spiders, goats, a chandelier, and more goodies to come. the booth will also hold 3 - 4 people comfortably for group performances and weird puppet orgies of which i will not speak of.
if we do want access from the bar platform itself, we will need to reduce the size of the booth and thus eliminate some of the "extra features". i'm guessing we should leave enough space on the platform for a 3' walkway with a safety rail? that would make the booth roughly 5' wide.
what do ya'll think? rear access and a bigger, better booth? or easy bar access and a smaller, simpler booth? i really like the larger interior but there is something to be said for being able to run from the bar into the karaoke booth in a split second.
